13 on the 13th

Who says 13 is unlucky?! We are so blessed to have Zoey in our lives, she brings us great joy everyday, but today is her 13 month birthday. In honor of that, here are 13 things she's doing right now that we especially love!

13 - She's such a little busy bee, walking all over the house and being more independent.

12 - Zoey loves books, she will bring them to you saying "book, book, book" and then sit in your lap while you read it to her, but I've found her a few times sitting reading by herself while I'm working on dinner or something. Today she cracked me up, she was reading one, then would put it down on her right, pick up the next one on her left, read it, and so on - through about 5 books - but a couple of them were upside down!



11 - Saying "MaMa" and "DaDa" and "Babs" and "Pops" actually TO us instead of just saying it.

10 - Her hair is long enough and thick enough to be able to hold a little mini bow clip on the top of her head!



9 - How much she loves to walk around outside on the sidewalk - we go get the mail every day and she cries when we go back inside, until I let her "help" with the mail!



8 - Zoey's appetite and love of food!! (See "Cookie" post)

7 - Her baby sign language skills; she now knows doggy, eat, drink, more, all done/gone and cereal. It's really cool to see how she puts them together though, like she will do "drink" when she's nursing, as well as with the cup. Or when she wants "cereal" (Cheerios, goldfish, etc) she'll do that sign, but then she'll do "more" instead of doing "cereal" again when she's ready for more. It's amazing how much their little minds can put together!

6 - How good she is at sharing, she is always trying to feed me her Cheerios, give toys to the baby I'm watching, and hand things to the cats/Higgins, etc.



5 - She is cracking us up right now with "No no no no no." I'm teaching her that the doggy's water bowl is not for her, and neither is the stereo. She knows they are not for her and when I say, "No, that's not for Zoey, that's Mommy's" or "Don't touch that" etc, she says "No no no no no" and points to it, sometimes touching it but most of the time not! She's learning! Now I just need to learn how to NOT laugh at how cute she is, else she will never learn any discipline!!

4 - What a good sleeper Zoey is, and how cute she looks sleeping with her beloved giraffe!



3 - When she walks/runs towards me with her arms up in the air for me to pick her up!

2 - Listening to her chatter on the monitor when she wakes up in the morning.

1 - Everything else she does!!!!
