HAPPY BIRTHDAY ZOEY!!

Today is Zoey's FIRST birthday! I'll be updating the elephant slideshow later on, we haven't taken the pics yet and she's taking a "birthday nap" right now, but here's what I wrote up for her babybook:

Well, Zoey is one now! This year sure did fly by as everyone said it would. I’ll try to sum up what’s going on with Zoey at this point in her life. A few words to describe her are busy, chatterbox, happy and “Rascal Rasdall.” She sure does “get” jokes; it’s so funny to watch her initiate silliness. She loves to take Pop’s glasses off and other mischievous things, which she knows will get our attention, and then look to us and wait for us to laugh with her. She’s got quite an impressive vocabulary; bye-bye (while waving), Mama, Dada, baby, Babs (Ba), Pops (whispered), “panting” for Doggy (sign language), purple, ball (ba), kitty cat (sounds like diddy dat), bubbles, pat pat pat (for touching doggies and babies), “mmmmm” when you ask if she’s hungry, and ya (when you ask her a question), She can also point to your nose and follow other simple commands like dance, splash, kick, shake, go get your baby, etc. Zoey is on the move all the time, she is walking better and better each day, she still uses her push toy some and the wall some, but she’s always able to get to where she wants! She’ll crawl only if she has to. As far as activities, she loves Peek-a-boo, baths, taking walks in the stroller, singing and dancing, swinging, reading books (especially the ones with lights and music), playing with all of her little friends, patting the doggy, trying to get the cats, storytime at the library and many other things! Something else Zoey seems to really enjoy (which is not surprising since she is Wayman and Rasdall), is eating! She is such a great eater, not picky at all! Her favorite seems to be the same as Mommy, spaghetti! She eats all sorts of fruits, veggies, meats, breads/pastas/rice, yogurt, cheese, oatmeal/cream of wheat, Goldfish & Cherrios. She also likes to sample whatever we are eating ~ Zoey “helps” me every morning to finish my cereal and juice, after she’s already eaten, and then she helps Daddy too! Zoey even takes her vitamins without complaint! Of course, I do “chase” them with some dessert baby food, which helps! She is still a great sleeper, going to bed at 7:30/8pm and sleeping to 7:30am, and as long as she’s got her giraffe lovey, she’ll go to sleep pretty much anywhere – the car or plane, the nursery, Babs & Pops house, our lap….such a little angel! We love her SOOOOO much and have enjoyed this past year more than we ever could’ve imagined! We look forward to many more birthdays!!
