Movin' On Up...

Zoey's been eating "solids" for a couple of months now and just loves (almost) all of it! I made three different chicken dishes for her and she loves one, likes one and will tolerate the third one, if it's mixed in with the one she loves. There's no confusion on what Zoey wants/likes when it comes to eating/drinking!! She is more than happy to let you know :) If she is done drinking, then she will clamp that mouth shut and push away the cup every time, it's really funny! Luckily she is a great eater so it's not a problem, it's actually helpful b/c you know what to start or stop doing! Anyway, we first fed her in the BeBe Pod (bumbo) seat, it was easy to wipe off, she likes it, and it's very portable. Then as we started having more meals, we clamped on the little mini-chair we got for dining out or when she eats at Babs/Pops condo. It was very convienent to have her right at (on) the kitchen table and it didn't take up much space. Plus, it too was easy to wipe down! I probably would've kept using just that for a while, but there's not any adjusting to be done on that seat, so she has lots of "wiggle" room - and she likes to use it! If you don't feed her fast enough, next thing you know, she's got her feet in her mouth, or her head down in her lap sucking on the straps, etc! Although it's funny, it's hard to feed her! Plus, she can't see us when we are in the kitchen since she's down so low. So this week I brought the "big kid" highchair down from the attic and Zoey helped me put it together one day after her nap. This chair adjusts in every possible place!!! Technically, there are 189 different combinations between all the settings - and that's with the tray on - you could also just keep the tray off and pull them up to the counter to eat with you! It's super easy to wipe off and it's nice to be able to roll her around the kitchen - so she can face me while she's eating some Cheerios and I'm getting dinner ready, then we can wheel her back to the table to feed her! She seems to really like it, she watches out the window/door while she eats and also has a better view of the cats!
