Anytime we went anywhere, the girls were chilling in the whole big backseat, it cracked us up, especially when we had 3 adults sharing the front bench seat in the car while they had all sorts of room in the back in their car seats, haha!
While in Atlanta, Zoey started sitting up on her own - for short periods of time - and also her toes finally made it into her mouth! She's been getting her feet up there a lot, but never actually in! I think it's so cute when babies eat their adorable little toes! Here's a pic of her sitting up on her own, in her crib, in a very pretty "girly" dress!
Once back in TX, we tried something really random...Stroller Skating! It was so much fun! Martha heard about it, so Robin, Martha and I tried it out - it's just what it sounds like, you skate with your baby in the stroller!
Dow thought it sounded like a disaster waiting to happen (so did Martha's sister), but it's not like the stroller is going to fall over (although mom might!) and they are strapped in anyway! We felt like it was a flashback to the 80's, the music, the disco lights, the roller skates - but it was really fun! Zoey was squealing part of the time, I think she liked the disco ball and going fast in the stroller!
Lastly, Sunday was Zoey's baby dedication at church! It was a special time where the Children's Minister (Paulette) tells the church about Zoey (her b-day, name meanings, verses we picked for her, etc) and then the church, along with Dow and I, vow to raise her in a Christian home, etc. Then Dr. Allen (our interm pastor) prayed for her and us. Zoey did great up on stage, of course, since she loves watching people and attention!!
Babs and Pops came to the service and then we had a nice lunch back at their condo! Zoey wore a pretty dress that had been Bab's when she was a baby, that Lexi and I also wore! She also wore her pretty charm bracelet from her Aunt Zia. It was Aunt Zia's bracelet when she was a baby, it's got a pretty cross on it with a diamond in it!
For dessert Babs made a cheesecake recipe that was really yummy. Zoey was sitting on Pops lap while he ate his and was watching his every move! He put a little bit on his finger for her to try, but she sneezed right then and collided with his finger! She got cheesecake all over her nose/face, it was too funny! He got a little more on his finger and let her try again, she made a funny face, guess she didn't like it as much as we did!
Our next big adventure is our first road trip with Zoey! We leave on Friday for TN, we're meeting up with my college girlfriends (Lyssa and Stephanie) and their families! We've rented cabins at a state park in TN - it's going to be so much fun!
